Bangla Type

Those who can not read Bangla in this blog (Because of font problem) and those who want to write in Bangla, this post is for them.

1) To view Bangla: You have to download a font from this link Click here. Then go to control panel and in the font folder copy the downloaded font. Here I want to mention one thing is that if you have this font installed, you will be able to view most the Bangla websites. Because this font (SolaimanLipi) is widely used in Bangla portal.

2) To write in Bangla: To write in Bangla you should download Avro Portable. It is a freeware and portable, that means you need not to install it. You can carry it in your USB and use it anywhere. Another feature is that it has phonetic layout, that means you can type in Bangla as you pronounce in English. like "Ami valo achi". You can learn Bangla type within very short time using this handy tool. Even by using Avro you can rename your File or Folder name in Bangla. To download Avro clik this link Click here.

Another tips: One thing is that in Windows XP, Microsoft provides a unicode font for bangla, that is "Vrinda". But our bad luck is that, the font looks ugly and very small to view. I have hacked one font for use instead of "Vrinda". You can download the font from this link Click here. First delete the font "Vrinda" from font folder and copy the new font there. (You can read section 1, "To view Bangla" for how to install new font).

At last, but not least, I would like to invite all BD Inhaian members to share their feelings in this blog and keep it alive. Happy Blogging .
